The viticultural Saar is home to one of the most exclusive white-wine regions in the world. In the Saar Valley around Ayl, the Riesling grape finds unique growing conditions between the poles of cool winds and hot slate slopes. Top quality from steep slopes is vinified today by the 5th generation of winemaker. Up to the Große Gewächse (“great growths”) of the [VDP], the wines are result of an almost 180-year-old tradition and experience.
The centuries-old grand crus Ayler Kupp, Feilser, and Schonfels are among the top sites of the greater Mosel region and are still worked by hand. From this natural, holistic management of the vineyards to selective handpicking to spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in old wooden casks, the maxim applies: authenticity and drinking pleasure! Of course, all wines are vegan.
